About Me
Strategic Management | Organisational Performance | Strategic Partnerships
I study factors affecting various dimensions of organisational performance, including knowledge and innovation outcomes, competitive positioning and financial outcomes. I have a specific interest in inter-organisational partnerships, how they can be evaluated and improved, and how they contribute to performance in the private and public sectors.
I use econometric techniques to analyse datasets from wide-ranging archival sources, including annual accounts, patent applications, scientific outputs, stock market data and questionnaire data. My work has been published in the top-ranked disciplinary journals, including Journal of Management, Academy of Management Annals and Strategic Management Journal.
Before joining Motu, I was a Senior Lecturer at Queen’s University Belfast. I am a Fulbright Scholar and hold a Ph.D in Strategic Management from the National University of Ireland. I have earned awards and/or funding from the Irish Research Council, Emerald Literati Awards and Enterprise Ireland, among others.
At Queen’s, and previously at the University of Otago, I led strategic management, innovation and entrepreneurship programmes for undergraduates, MBA students and executives. I also serve on the Membership Engagement Committee for the Strategic Management Division of the Academy of Management, the global professional body for management research.
